We discuss the many factors to consider when choosing a dog (breed, temperament, cost, rescue vs breeder etc.), and then cover the items and basics you need to know when getting a dog both in general, and when they are an Assistance Dog prospect.
We go through the stages of training, going in depth into the importance of the foundations and bond with your dog, as well as task-work, Public Access training and other aspects of general training including the controversial topic of training tools. We aim to cover multiple points of view where possible to give a rounded approach, however as we are the ones writing, we obviously come at things from our own perspectives.
