We go through the history, tracking the progression of Assistance Dogs to those we know today; and we address the many myths surrounding different aspects of Assistance Dogs. We also discuss the difficult topics of motivation when it comes to getting an assistance dog, whether it is right for you as an individual (as opposed to other avenues) and the challenges faced by being in the public eye as a result of having an assistance dog.
